Andy is Director of Jazz Studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago (U.I.C.) located in downtown Chicago. He directs the UIC Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Combo and teaches Jazz History and Jazz Trombone.

Andy previously taught at Northwestern University and Elmhurst College

Andy regularly serves as a guest artist and clinician at junior high, high school and university jazz festivals, and has presented masterclasses on both trombone playing and jazz improvisation.
